As promised here are some videos of the fireworks on last Friday which happened to be the independence day. We watched them on the FDR Drive a little bit north of South Street Seaport.

Jazz, Wicked and Helicopter ride
Saturday, February 23rd, 2008Since I’ve been on vacation last week and really lazy updating my blog recently here are a couple of short sentences about what we did during this last week. On Tuesday we went to the Jazz concert again where I’ve already been last week and had a couple of drinks with my buddy Steve afterwards. Wednesday night was musical night and we went to “Wicked” and although we were both exhausted and tired of walking around through central park an Manhattan during the whole day and had a hard time not falling asleep we really enjoyed the great show. Highly recommended! One of the highlights of the last week was definitely on Thursday night where we took a helicopter ride along Manhattan Island going over the Hudson river down to the Statue of Liberty and back up to the upper west side. This is a must do whenever you are in NYC! Below is a short video where you can see Downtown Manhattan and Ground Zero (yes, the girl sitting next to the pilot is the mysterious one

SF day1: Alcatraz, Segway tour
Friday, November 30th, 2007What a wonderful day in San Francisco. Our first part of the day was the 10 am tour to “The Rock” Alcatraz which is of course a must whenever you’re visiting this beautiful city. The boat takes only around 10 minutes to get there and after a short welcome speech of one of the guards and a little introduction about the rules on the island you get a very interesting audio tour through the former high security prison which was closed down in the year 1963 mainly because of the high maintenance costs.
As sightseeing always makes hungry we went to one of the best burger spots you can go to in San Francisco: In&Out Burger which is supposed to be one of the first burger places in the US as they already started in the year 1948. We had some really decent burger there. Go for it!
And then we did one of the coolest things you can do whenever you come to San Francisco: The San Francisco Segway Tour which means basically going through San Francisco on one of this futuristic vehicles through for over 2 hours. This was soooo much fun! I was really surprised how intuitive it is to ride one of those. After a short introduction everyone of us was able to go by himself without any assistance. And funny how many people out there take a picture of you when you’re riding one of those. You feel like a VIP
Very recommended!!!
Here is a short video of me riding on a Segway
