A wonderful weekend in Chicago (again)
Sep 30th
Unfortunately it’s getting fall here too but it has been a sunny weekend here in Chicago at about 85 degrees and I used this lovely weather to go to the park at the lake and read a book (I read the book “Die Schattenuhr” by Alfred Komarek which I got as a birthday present – nice one – kudos to my sister). Saturday evening I met some friends in downtown and we went for a very decent dinner at the Chicago Chop House where I had a superb New York Strip Steak (16 oz) and some excellent Alaskan King Crab legs. We also shared some nice bottles of red wine – mmmhhmmm – it was such a great meal! With our full stomachs we rolled one block further to a pretty new bar called Martini park where we enjoyed some nice cocktails and live music. I must say that there are some really nice chicks there and I can only recommend this bar if you are in town. After midnight when the live music is finished they’re switching to some great house music tunes and it got very very late for us. For the rest of the night I stayed at a friend’s place in downtown as there was no way for me to drive back home at this time. Today I made it somehow back to my hotel
Rental car
Sep 24th
Well of course and if something goes wrong (flight cancelled) everything goes wrong…. Today the system at AVIS was down so I had to stand 45 min in line to get my car. But I got a pretty decent car today (Chrysler 300 with GPS, leather, sunroof ….)
